Recipe RX Seeks to Match Your Dietary Needs With Restaurants Near You
If you have dietary considerations, either for medical reasons, allergies, or you’re just tired of eating that “certain something” that gives you gastro-intestinal problems, then this site is for you.
RecipeRX.com is a website where you can look at recipes, restaurants, and even products to find those that are (or aren’t) amenable to your dietary needs. It’s free to use and gives you a lot of freedom and information for your diet and health.
The site was founded by chef Camille Macres who describes herself as a “certified health nut.” It launched during the TechCrunch50 convention in September and is headquartered in Santa Barbara, California. Seeing a need for health-related food information that went beyond the Nutrition Information on the back of the package, and tired of wait staff needing to memorize ingredients list or continually ask the chefs “what’s in that?” she decided to put it on the Web.
RecipeRX is free to use and definitely interesting. You sign up for a free account, create a profile for yourself based on your medical or health needs, your food preferences, etc. and then you’re linked with restaurants, farmer’s markets, grocery stores, etc. that match those criteria. You can then view the profiles of those and try them out. From there, you can leave a review of the outlet for others to use in making their decisions.
The way the site works isn’t new, but the idea behind it definitely is. Everyone benefits by eating healthier and those who have a specific reason to eat one way versus another will definitely have a leg up on the game by using RecipeRX. It’s free, so why not give it a shot?
